novel "SHENGZIAN OPARAMUN" / in ENGLISH language

Crime SF novel about the future century in which the East has become stronger than the West.

SHENGZIAN OPARAMUN is a psychological SF novel with the elements of the crime thriller that takes place in Zagreb in the distant future of the 23rd century. I have put the plot of the novel into the far future for one technological invention that is impossible with today's technology, and the story goes through neuroscience and other probable technologies of the future. In the novel there is an accident and the mysterious death investigated by the police. One poorly paid worker in a HI-TEC factory, as a socially abandoned outsider will come to some surprising discoveries what is actually happening there...

Unlike the first, the name of this novel is neologism that intentionally sounds futuristic but has a very concrete meaning and around it spins the whole plot of the story. As the novel is in the far, distant but yet a precise future, speaking futuristically those fictional words that do not mean anything today, COULD mean in the future exactly what they represent in the novel. You will notice in this book that I have also tried to choose some very rare or completely fictitional names of characters because who could know with certainty what fashion will be then? To name a few examples from literature, compare on one side the well-known medieval utopian novels and prophecies of Thomas More and Tommaso Campanella on future societies and on the other side technologically detailed SF novels by Jules Verne and his successors (eg a description of a man's journey to the moon 100 years before accomplishment) how much they had exactly predicted specific things from the distant future with the knowledge they had at the time, and how much they anticipated the general development of human society, regardless of the technology itself.

I imagined that the situation in this world of far future of the 23rd century would change significantly, China and Far East will become the world's strongest power and replace North America after some major clash between the East and the West, where the East has obviously won and what are the rich Americans now, then will be the rich Chinese. Even though America is still then one significant power, and in the novel, apart from the mighty Chinese, one North American plays a very important role too. Of course, Croatia itself will then live in somewhat different political environment then today, which looks even unusual from today's perspective. The main character of the novel is the descendant of uskoks Senj (coastal Croatian city), who were imperial soldiers and warriors in the battles with the Turks and Venetians (16th and 17th century) later settled in Zumberak inland region. That warrior origin and the mentality of the main hero will prove to be very important because in some parts of the novel he should have to show the great courage to dare to reveal some dangerous secrets that are hidden here.
