novel "EUinc" / in ENGLISH language

EU as a capitalist corporation? Humorous allegory about the society we live in.

In continuation of the blog I will present you two very different novels by genre, humorous satire and in the next post futuristic SF, the books which I wrote several years in different periods. If you devote yourself to reading my novels you will notice, for example, that I often use punk rock humor in writing, which, of course, ridicules political correctness and does not pay respect to the authorities, even those in rock'n'roll, what can be seen particularly in this first book.

EUinc is basically a humorous novel with punk sensibility that is allegorically speaking about our present time. Yes, as you can guess by the title, in this book this political community in which Croatia is a member as well, is being depicted as a capitalist corporation, that may not be far from the truth. Two Croats, the main characters of the novel are old school mates in Zagreb, and they are starting to invest in the shares of this corporation. They learn a great financial business and even know something to play. So they find a third member and set up a band. One thinks more about the shares and the other about playing. They will gradually realize, despite their great ambitions combined with the solid knowledge and abilities, and not quite unrealistic plans, that things in business as well as in rock'n'roll are not what they imagined. Not even today, four decades after the emergence of the rebellious punk, which both of them like the most. Neither the access in that distinguished society of prominent European shareholders represents business success and prosperity itself, what, in the case of Croatia, certainly contains political allusions.

For the end I have one punk style anecdote. When we met for the first time, I suggested to the online publisher VALENTIN that both my books should be published simultaneously, which the publisher did not want at first, until I explained that I had a very important symbolic reason for it. You've probably heard that story many times: this guy promised with this first album and we just waited to hear what his new songs would be, but this second album... somehow it's not that what we expected. He became a commercial sell-out...

In this way, I avoid that what the rock slang calls the sophomore jinx (curse of the second album). My first and my second album are released at the same time, so you can not even know which is the first and which is the second.
