New Tales of Past and Future of My Zumberak

It is my pleasure to announce that in collaboration with Valentin publisher, I made a special 

kind of animated youtube promotion for my novel "Euinc." too. As in the first case, we have created short animated films in the style of popular anime movies that dramatize selected scenes from the novel, along with texts from the book translated into English to make it available to the broadest international audience. It is important to emphasize that these moving pictures and other additional content (comments on two more world languages, this time GERMAN and FRENCH) that you can see on my youtube channel now, are exclusively used for audio-visual animations on the internet. So my novel, which in printed form has a total of 389 pages on the classic A5 format page, is NOT a graphic novel with pictures. They are here only for the imaginative presentation of the book's content. We are especially grateful to the visual creations of many digital artists whose symbolic images and photos were used in these short films. They are listed in the last 12th short film, and their artworks can be seen on the website pixabay.com.

So, my colleagues and I have recorded a total of 12 short films about the novel “EUinc.” that you can 

watch on youtube. I should mention that this novel with subversive humor is allegorically speaking about the EU, not as a political organization whose member is Croatia as well, but as a capitalist incorporated company, what may not be far from the truth. On the other hand, the book presents punk rock culture through the efforts and attempts of one group of punkers who are no longer so young as they really feel young, that as the mature people realize their adolescent dreams they are returning to, and try to live a life as they lived once in their school days when they "were not fully focused on achieving the goal as they are now». Now, in their 30's, they have a certain maturity and life experience and know very well what they want to achieve. These short films present important elements of the book's content, such as the fascination of the rock group members with such big international bands like Green Day. I will mention an interesting detail from a book that is not selected in these promotional films. At one point, one of the members is even dreaming, as he meets Billie Joe, Mike and Tre in reality and wants to know the secret of how it is to be big and famous. Each of these 12 short animated films in which we have dramatized the selected extracts from my book lasts 5-6 minutes on average. (Just type and search IGOR SULJAGIC YOUTUBE) I'm pleased to say that the anime style presentations of both novels are in HD quality of sound and picture, and there are also very short book trailers ready to be online soon. I wish you pleasure and enjoyment in watching and reading. This book, the same as "Shengzian Oparamun", was published in 2017 in two languages. After the winter which came to Zumberak this time later than usually, finally the real spring time comes here and a new tourist season in which we invite You to visit Zumberak, in the northwest of Croatia, 50 kilometers west of Zagreb. Here I present some interesting things from zumberak. Last summer, the members of the German Krabat association from the Lower Saxony region in the east of Germany (along the border with Poland and the Czech Republic) visited us as they gave name of our prominent noble man from Zumberak, Janko Sajatovic Krabat (Krabat is a Germanized word for Croat) to its region as a tourist brand (search on the internet: region Krabat, Germany). Since our Krabat, as a medieval 17th-century knight who arrived in Germany, as an experienced soldier, at the invitation of then Saxon ruler August II, became very important figure for the economic development of that region of Germany even after the wars he successfully fought. Because of this, the inhabitants of the Krabat region named after him the mills that were built there under Krabat's instructions from Zumberak, (these old mills still can be seen in Zumberak). They named after Krabat even one type of beer and few other tourist products, and each year they held the Krabat Summer Festival in Lower Saxony, as a tourist cultural event.

Here are two pictures of the guests from Germany, in front of the inn “Zumberacki raj” (Zumberak 

Paradise), a few kilometers away from our hostel Flores in Zumberak. The gray-haired man in white clothes in the middle of the picture is Mr. Wolfgang Kraus, a German dressed in traditional Krabat's 17th-century costume. He is an official promotor who tells the tourist groups stories about the character of Krabat. Then here is the cover of their promotional touristic bulletin in German and in their local dialect, with a picture of the traditional Krabat mill in Lower Saxony.

This picture here presents uskoks from Senj in Zumberak, the local inhabitants of Zumberak, 

who wore the traditional clothing of uskoks which they brought from Senj when settling here

in Zumberak.

This picture shows the table from the monument with the coats of arms of the uskok soldier families, 

located in the village of Badovinci in Zumberak. As it is written on the table, uskok families began to settle in Zumberak in the year 1530. I have already written in some texts about the uskoks from Senj and their pirate engagements on the Adriatic Sea, especially against the Venetian Republic and the battles with the Turks as well.
